Though not my first time in Vegas, it was my definitely my first time attending the WPPI Convention and the first time I didn’t sit in front of a dealer at a blackjack or poker table to gamble my money away. Instead, I sat in at some pretty cool seminars hosted by some amazing photographers and used my money to buy some photography gear instead.
Though just as exhausting as all my other Vegas trips, I had an amazing time. I didn’t know what to expect from this trip and was told by some WPPI-seasoned photographers to have a schedule set because you can definitely lose track of time with all that is going on.
There were seminars from eight in the morning to eight in the evening to attend, hundreds of vendors at the tradeshow to see and some photo shoots and parties not part of the WPPI convention to go to. There was a lot, I mean a lot of things going on. All the walking from my hotel room to the seminars and tradeshow and down the strip was crazy. With all that walking comes another Las Vegas first – I lost 3lbs instead of gaining 3lbs in Vegas. Crazy, I know!
All in all, it was a great experience and I learned so much from the industry’s top photographers and met some awesome photographers during the process. I am definitely looking forward to next year’s WPPI Convention which so happens to be their 30th anniversary. I know what to expect now and will definitely enjoy it even more next year.
Here are some shots of Vegas. Take care.

Hi Thao, it was nice to meet you at the Red Rock shoot. I love these photos you posted, I didn’t even get time to take some snaps of Vegas at night, next year I’ll make a better effort!
